This is just my opinion of how we should change our policy on punishing criminals. What we should do, by crime:

Increases in Penalties:

Any type of Murder: life without bail, no death penalty (but that's a different debate)
Rape: a minimum of twenty years
Domestic violence: minimum of 20 years in prison
Sexual Abuse of a minor: 25 years for first time offense, second time life
insider trading: 15 years
Violent Robbery: 30 years
Sale of Drugs other than marijuana: 15 years, 20 if sa...

I can understand why people would support Ralph Nader's ideology, but I can't understand why anyone would vote for him. If you vote for Nader, it means you are more concerned with making a statement than making sure the better man gets elected. If you think that there is absolutely no difference between Kerry and Bush and Kerry is equally as bad as Bush, then vote for Nader. But if you think Kerry would be better than Bush, even if you think he's worse than Nader, than vote for Kerry. If you vot...

As someone who badly wants Kerry to become the next president I must say that I think Kerry should be running a better campaign.

So far, Bush's campaign has been extremely negative. He's criticized Kerry more than he's promoted himself, and succeeded in branding Kerry as a flip-flopping, tax-raising, troop hating Massachusetts liberal.

Kerry, on the other hand, has decided to take the high road to Bush's low road. Kerry can't win this way. You can't unseat an incumbent by simply promoting...

When George Bush pitched the Iraq war to the American people, he made it sound more appealling by saying it was part of our War on Terror. But has our invasion or Iraq really deterred terrorism?

Before I explain my case let me just say that I think terrorism is disgusting, evil, and abhorent. I do not support terrorism in any form and it is not a legitimate form of protest. That being said, the way we're going about fighting it is innefective and even counterproductive in many ways.

Since ...

Y&SECTION=OLYMPICS&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT">Link

I'm not sure if this is really a political post, but when you think about it it really is.

As some of you may know in the men's all-around olympic gymnastics final, American Paul Hamm won the gold by a slight margin over South Korean Yang Tae-young. It was later discovered that the Korean had incorrectly had 1/10 of a point deducted from his score, and had this error not been made, he would have came out on top. The error, however, did not happ...

With all the talk of the SBVT and their ads against John Kerry, one has to feel that the real issues of the election are getting shoved aside!

Both candidates have issues far back in the past that we could bring up again and again, but that's not going to help inform America who would be the better president. John Kerry may not have served honorably in and after Vietnam and George Bush may have gone AWOL on national guard duty, and to this day he still won't deny the he used cocaine and dru...
